COSART
Our Vision
COSART is an association recognized by the producers and their organisations, the social public programs, the NGOs and the State. It's an experience of alternative trade, promoting the auto-employment, the income diversification of popular sectors of the cities and of rural areas populations, the solidarity inside the groups of producers and inside their social environment.
Our Mission
Since 1978, COSART offers the following services:
- The promotion of a production of quality of craft of the popular sectors of the field and of the city of the South Andean region of the Peru, adapted to the market.
- The internal commercialization and the export of the craft of the organized groups.
- Technical and human oriented trainings, with a high component of solidarity, fighting the risk of an exclusivist collective or sectarian selfishness,that would prevent from being open to their social and organizational environment.

The promotion of relationships between the groups of producers and the Government's organizations that have the objective of supporting this social sector, and also with other national or international private organizations that have the same ends.
Work objectives
- To improve the income level and the quality of life of rural communities or of the cities sectors most victim of market exclusion, through a production activity and the commercialization of handicrafts in local and external markets.
- To harness the capacities of the artisans.
- To improve the social cohesion through the community participation, and the fortification of the endogenous capacities of communal organization.
- To practise solidarity through the rescue of the traditional values of the “Ayni” and the “Minka” applied to the production and commercialisation activities.
- To rescue traditional local techniques and designs of the crafts from the communities, and share between different groups of producers the initiatives and improvements of the traditional techniques.
- To permit the independence and autonomy of the groups of producers and for extension of the communities or districts.
- To promote the training and information on the social, economic and politic reality of the country.
